Cantrip
Originally a quartet, Cantrip sprung from a local session in Edinburgh nearly twenty years ago. Their driving music immediately caught the attention of the masses, as well as Scottish record label Foot Stompin' Celtic Music, who quickly signed the group. With their first album "Silver" (2001) in hand Cantrip toured for several years in United States, where they were received enthusiastically, before parting ways with Foot Stompin' and continuing to produce albums on their own. By the time they released "Boneshaker" (2005) and "Piping the Fish" (2008), Cantrip had established themselves as perennial figures in the world of Celtic Folk music.
After a period of hiatus and a slight change in membership, Cantrip released 2016's "The Crossing," catching the ears of listeners and concert goers all over again. In August 2018, Cantrip celebrated 20 years of performances together with a live album sponsored by Nine Athens Music. Check it out here!
